Unit 2 builds on the foundational skills introduced in the first unit. Students continue to building their phonemic awareness skills through rhyming activities, more complex segmenting and blending of skills as well as sound addition and deletion which is important for early spelling skills.
Within 12 lessons, students will learn the following letter sounds:
h, g, l, p, e, f, w, k, b
Children continue to develop their reading skills through decodable words and stories for each lesson in their workbook. Students can also read two additional decodable books by the end of this unit.
