Why Fetch Phonics?

Starts Right at the Beginning

Fetch Phonics is a beginning reading curriculum. Students don't need any prior knowledge of the alphabet or letter sounds or names. Fetch Phonics can also be used for students who have struggled with other reading programs because this curriculum can be started at any place in the sequence.

A Focus on Phonics and Phonemic Awareness

Phonemic Awareness is the ability to hear and manipulate sounds. It is an important predictor of reading success. And luckily, phonemic awareness is a skill that can be taught and developed.

Research shows that effective reading instruction uses a balance between phonics instruction and phonemic awareness development.

Fetch Phonics gives teachers and parents a clear plan for introducing letters and sounds and phonemic awareness instruction that supports and develops children's reading as they go.

Read Words and Stories Within the First Unit

Students can start reading words within the first 10 lessons and decodable readers and stories within the first 15 lessons.

With a total of 50 lessons to introduce all the letters, short and long vowel sounds, and 10 digraphs, students get lots of reading practice as they continue to learn new skills.

Systematic and Logical Progression

Fetch Phonics uses explicit instruction, organized in a logical progression and presented in incremental steps that doesn't overwhelms the student.

+Students are never presented with letters or words that haven’t been explicitly taught. No more guessing!

+Student workbooks and easy-to-follow teacher book makes it easy for parents, without using a script. This allows parents to customize the curriculum to their own individual child’s learning styles and motivations.

+Curriculum focuses on real world application, with many hands on games and activities to keep students engaged and motivated.

Fully Illustrated Resources with Low-Ink Options

Fetch Phonics includes full color illustrations throughout the curriculum. The decodable books have illustrations that are both eye catching and attractive, while also keeping your printer's ink supply in mind. Picture cards for activities come with full-color and black and white options.
